Mariusz Oszust, PhD, DSc, Eng., Associate Prof.
I received an MSc Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rzeszow University of Technology, in 2005, a PhD in Computer Science from the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, in 2013, and a DSc degree in Computer Science from the Czestochowa University of Technology, Czestochowa, Poland, in 2019. Now, I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer and Control Engineering, Rzeszow University of Technology. My main research interests broadly center around pattern recognition with particular emphasis on image quality assessment, local feature descriptors, optimization algorithms, time series augmentation and classification, and sign language recognition. I have authored or co-authored over 50 high-quality journal (e.g., Knowledge-Based Systems, Information Sciences, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, IEEE Access, Magnetic Resonance in Medicine) and conference (e.g., NeurIPS) papers, a book, and a patent. I serve as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (since 2023) and Signal, Image and Video Processing (since 2018), and as a frequent reviewer for over 30 journals and conferences (including IEEE TCSVT, IEEE TIP, IEEE TMM, IEEE TNNLS, IEEE Access, Knowledge-Based Systems, Neurocomputing, Applied Soft Computing, Information Sciences, or NeurIPS).
